Devastate.

Devastate is an awesome sounding word all on it’s own but I found a definition for it today that was particularly bad-ass.

thefreedictionary.com says:

tr.v. dev·as·tat·ed, dev·as·tat·ing, dev·as·tates

1. To lay waste; destroy.

2. To overwhelm; confound; stun:

“TO LAY WASTE! DESTROY!”   Perfect.

I just LOVE that phrase, to lay waste. You will see it in my books, mark my words. It’s just too good.

One of my favorite uses of the word devastate is to say that someone is devastatingly handsome.  What follows is a pictorial depiction of handsome in it’s most devastating forms. These lay waste to knees, destroy hearts, overwhelm the senses, confound logic and simply stun every time…

Defenestration means…

February9

…throwing of a person or thing out of a window. It’s a noun. It has a verb form in defenestrate. Impress the cops by using these words the next time you’re trying to explain why you threw your d-bag boyfriend’s clothes/guitar/lifeless body out the window of your 5th floor walk up.

A noun meaning the main body of an aircraft.
